Champions

Champions are individuals capable of bonding with powerful spiritual entities known as sprites. Through these bonds, Champions gain access to supernatural abilities gifted by The Old Gods.

Overview

A Champion is created when a mortal forms a bond with a sprite.

The nature of the sprite determines the Champion's powers, abilities and divine affiliation.

There are three known types of Champions.

Lifebringers

Lifebringers are Champions of Eos.

They form bonds with Life Sprites and gain powers associated with healing, protection and preservation.

Gravebringers

Gravebringers are Champions of Hades.

They form bonds with Death Sprites and gain powers associated with destruction, decay and death.

Spellbringers

Spellbringers are Champions of Mystrel.

They form bonds with Logic Sprites and gain enhanced control over The Weave.

Sprites are spiritual entities associated with the Old Gods.

Known types include:

• Life Sprites
• Death Sprites
• Logic Sprites

Stormlight and Champions

Champions possess the unique ability to breathe in Stormlight.

When infused with Stormlight, Champions gain enhanced abilities and can rapidly heal injuries. The Stormlight is gradually consumed as their powers are used.

Stormlight can even heal injuries to the soul, like those created by Shardblades.
